Excellent Email List Building Content For Free

Hey all,

So Keith Wellman just released some new content on a few new ideas on how to build a solid opt in list really quickly. He outlines some really cool new strategies instead of the same old “put up a sqeeze page and send traffic” ideas. For instance, here’s an idea that I read that is simply ingenious!

Hire a programmer from Rent A Coder or Scriptlance. Get them to take an already exisiting piece of software on the market, that you chose, and recreate it in a free version. Now give away the software on sites like Download.com or even offer it to other newsletter publishers as a great no strings free gift for their own subscribers.

Offer the freebie WITHOUT a subscribe box on your page. Just the download link for the software. But then have the programmer make it so that the software must be registered to work properly! Have all the registrations by email point to your own autoresponder and voila! You’ve just created a new way to get tons of targetted subscribers without using a traditional methods.

The downside is that there are upfront programming costs involved, but they aren’t really that high. The upside, is that you can easily create a way for this to become a viral beast and you’ll really grow your list.
